The JMP Difference

  • Access and cleanse data. Import SAS, Excel, and HTML files. Query and retrieve data from ODBC compliant (Open Database Connectivity) databases and file management systems (Microsoft Access, Oracle). Sort, concatenate, and subset data ahead of time or during analysis.
  • Run comprehensive statistics. Select an analysis or graph from a menu, and then let JMP drive you through variable selection. JMP offers over 300 statistics plus hover help and hints to help interpret results.
  • View results as graphs dynamically linked to data. JMP displays statistics, graphs results, and shows source data in one window. Click on any point on a graph and JMP highlights everything about that point in the data table. Click on a row in the data table and JMP shows you where that data displays in the graphs. Point and click to subset data, exclude groups from analysis, or mark interesting data so you can watch their behavior.
  • Monitor and Control Quality and Variability. Use control charts, histograms, parato charts, capability analysis, and Gage R&R to detect, analyze and solve process related problems, then assure the process performs within limits. Obtain a snapshot of process performance and capability in one window. Write alarm scripts to warn users of out of specification/control situation results. The specific quality variables to product line adjustments to quick identify when a line is out of specification and then quickly be able to make the appropriate adjustments in-process to reduce sub-standard or scrapped products.
  • Identify outliers. JMP automatically identifies outliers that distort results or reveal important patterns.
  • Communicate findings efficiently. JMP’s layout facility allows you to treat every element of data analysis as a separate object or bundle them together to customize a presentation. Show easy-to-understand graphs that project future costs and growth opportunities. Edit and annotate results and save as JPEG or HTML files to publish to the web or other software programs. Customize output for different users or departments. Deliver results to the Web or a department intranet as HTML files. Integrate live JMP analyses with PowerPoint presentations using JMP Journals. Copy and paste to Microsoft® Office applications.
  • Record, repeat, program, automate, and customize tasks. JMP’s scripting language (JSL) makes standardization possible by automating processes so that anyone in any department can run them. Record, repeat, program, automate, and customize tasks. Take JMP to the shop floor. By using scripts, you assure consistent results and reduce the probability of errors from user to user. JMP power users can bundle multiple analytics into a template and distribute a script that can be run by users with less experience with a click of the mouse. This assures the consistency in your results from production line to production line and plant to plant around the world. Scripting also aids in the speed at which you obtain results.
  • Design experiments to fit your problem. JMP’s design of experiments allows prototyping of the most unconventional design used in the manufacturing process. Specify the problem, laying out various kinds of factors and responses, and JMP obtains the optimal design that gives you the most information for a given number of runs. You can mix and match any combination of continuous factors, categorical factors, mixture factors, blocking factors and covariates. You also have the ability to modify a design interactively. DOE Custom Designer supports experimentation end-to-end – from planning to designing to fitting to prototyping to optimizing. Save response, factors, and constraints from DOE so it’s quicker to collaborate or repeat experiments with no need for re-entering data. You are quickly able to eliminate nonconforming designs that allows you to narrow the range of designs to consider building a prototype that most closely meets your product specifications.
